Ancient Indian Agastya Rishi First Invented the Electrical cell (Battery). His timelines are considered to be before 2000 BC. In his book Agastya Samhita, he mentioned numerous scientific aspects one of such is how to make an electric cell.
Agastya was also named Kumbhodbhava as he invented an electric cell made of the earthen pot. According to Agastya Samhita earthen pot, copper sheet, copper sulfate, sawdust, mercury, and zinc are required for making electric cells. Our chemists tried this method and they are able to produce electricity with this cell. This means ancient Indian’s had knowledge of electricity. In his book, he also mentioned how electricity can be generated from water, silk, and clouds. They also had the knowledge of storing the electricity. Agastya Samhita also spoke about electroplating. According to this one can plate copper with gold or silver in presence of acidified water and the metal that is combined with saltpeter. The same technique we are using for electroplating metals nowadays.

Open Network Digital Commerce (ONDC), the e-commerce protocol developed by the government, has been in the news lately, first because of the striking low prices of food delivery via the platform and then because of the changes it made in its incentive policy to seller side apps.
In a world that is constantly redefining its food consumption behavior, online food delivery apps like Swiggy and Zomato have proved to be game-changers. But with the rapidly expanding space, the Indian government too, wants a slice of the cake with its own platform, Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). Started around September 2022, ONDC’s recent rise to fame has been due to the platform reportedly surpassing 10,000 daily order(s) mark. Interestingly, several users who used ONDC also took screenshots, comparing the prices with Swiggy and Zomato, which turned out to be cheaper in several reported cases. Since the government-backed ONDC is gaining popularity in the Swiggy, Zomato world, let’s take a look and understand what exactly it is. What Is ONDC?Powered by the Government of India, ONDC is an initiative that allows restaurants to sell their goods and services (food in this case) directly to consumers. However, the restaurants are just one aspect of it. As per PIB, it is an initiative aimed at promoting open networks for all aspects of exchange of goods and services (even restaurants) over digital or electronic networks. As several private players enter the e-Commerce space, ONDC becomes a government-backed initiative that aims to make e-Commerce more accessible and affordable for users. The open specifications and open network protocols have been conceptualised in such a way that make it independent of any specific platform(s). Is ONDC Better Than Swiggy, Zomato? Both business and customer dynamics of ONDC are reportedly competing effectively with Swiggy and Zomato in the context of online food delivery business. As reported by users, for ordering food online, ONDC is proving to be cheaper when compared with Swiggy and Zomato. For instance, an order that costs around Rs 150 on ONDC, may range around Rs 200-215 on the other two platforms. (Please note that the costs are only indicative and have been taken only for explanation purposes. The actual costs may vary, depending on a host of factors.) While we don’t know if ONDC can take on Swiggy and Zomato, it surely is gaining popularity in a price-sensitive market like India. How And Where To Use ONDC? To use ONDC, one needs to access the UPI platform Paytm. For this, one needs to simply type ONDC in the search bar and then choose the purpose of using ONDC in order to complete the action they have initiated. For those wondering how to order food via ONDC, please note that for starters, one will have to type ONDC Food on Paytm. Now, one can easily check out the cuisine one wishes to order, choose the restaurant and place the order. It must also be noted that since ONDC is relatively new, many restaurants are still not available on it. However, the scope is expansive. Every time a boat capsizes in Kerala, where inland cruise tourism is flourishing largely unregulated, the familiar refrain is that it was a tragedy waiting to happen. The boat that sank in the Poorapuzha estuary in Tanur municipality on Sunday evening, killing 22 people, 15 of them children, was packed with local tourists to twice its capacity and was not cleared for post-dusk operations. It remains unclear how a fishing boat fitted with an upper deck received clearance, if at all it did, to conduct inland tourist operations. Rescue workers, most of them fishermen, sustained injuries from the broken glass panels that covered the windows on its lower deck where most victims had got trapped. The Kerala government has ordered a judicial inquiry, with the support of experts, into the accident and the police have arrested the owner of the vessel.
It was just a month ago that international disaster management expert Muralee Thummarukudy issued a prescient warning, which sounds eerie in hindsight, of an imminent houseboat tragedy in Kerala with at least 10 casualties. The cautionary note flagged the absence of crew training, sparse availability and use of safety material such as life vests, lack of on-board briefing of guests and erratic renewal of operational licence and enforcement thereon. Inquiring into the Thekkady boat capsize, in 2009, the worst Kerala has seen with 45 casualties, the former judge, E. Moideen Kunju, had recommended expeditious formation of a maritime board to regulate water transport. The Kerala Maritime Board was formed in 2017 by merging the Directorate of Ports, Kerala State Maritime Development Corporation Limited, and the Kerala Maritime Society. But the police investigation in the case dragged on, with a second charge sheet filed 10 years after the accident. The trial has not begun yet. As per official data, 3,213 inland vessels are in operation in Kerala’s numerous waterways, but industry insiders give a ballpark figure of about 4,000 vessels, also counting the unlicensed ones. The maritime board, vested with the responsibility to ensure the fitness, licensing and safe operation of all tourist vessels in Kerala including houseboats, is short of adequate manpower to carry out its job. It has no enforcement wing to keep a tab on errant vessels including those that dodge periodic renewal of licence. Boat tourism holds tremendous potential in a State lined with waterways, but to be able to reap its benefits, the safety of the people using it should be given top priority. The government should expeditiously arm the maritime board with the wherewithal to carry out enforcement. This will ensure that erring officials are taken to task and not just the boat crew and managers. Some states have banned the movie while some have made it tax-free. It seems to have become a bone of contention among the states ruled by BJP and Opposition parties. Some political parties like TMC, INC and DMK along with some muslim political groups have been protesting against the movie, whcich released on May 5. West Bengal The controversial film has been banned in West Bengal. The ban on Sudipto Sen-directed film ‘The Kerala Story’ has been ordered by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee. “This is to avoid any incident of hatred and violence, and to maintain peace in the state. What is ‘The Kashmir Files?’ it is to humiliate one section. What is ‘The Kerala Story? It is a distorted story,” Banerjee said. Tamil Nadu The screening of the film has been stopped by the Tamil Nadu Theatre and Multiplex Owners Association on Sunday as “a precautionary measure”. The move has been taken to maintain law and order and protect their properties from the factions, who are opposed to the theme of the film. Tamil Nadu Theatre and Multiplex Owners’ Association president Tiruppur M. Subramaniam said, “The film has been taken out of almost all theatres. The film was screened only in the cities. Since it is a Hindi film and has no recognisable faces, it will not have patronage.” Madhya Pradesh The BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh has made the film tax-free. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “The film shows how the (life of) daughters who get entangled in the trap of love jihad gets destroyed. It also exposes the design of terrorism. While we have already brought a law against (forced) conversion, the film creates awareness about the issue. This film should be watched by all and that’s why the Madhya Pradesh government is declaring the film tax-free.” Kerala Observing that the film is “inspired by true events”, the Kerala High Court has refused to ban the release of the movie. 5/4/2023 0 Comments THE KERALA STORY (2023)The Kerala Story is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language film directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah.[1] The plot follows the story of a group of women from Kerala who are converted to Islam and join the extremist Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The film has courted controversy for portraying itself as a true story and for making false claims that thousands of women from Kerala are being converted to Islam and recruited into ISIS.[2][3] The film has also faced criticism from political parties in Kerala who alledge it of promoting the Sangh Parivar's agenda.[4]
The film stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani and is scheduled for release on 5 May 2023.[5] Premise and factual accuracyThe film is captioned as being based on a real-life incident, while the reliability of the statistics shown are not backed by any real evidence.[3][2][6] It makes a reference to Love Jihad propaganda in Kerala, where Muslim youth allegedly lure Hindu girls to convert them to Islam.[7] The teaser, released on 3 November 2022,[8] featured Adah Sharma playing the character of Fathima Ba — a Hindu Malayali nurse — who had converted to Islam and joined the ISIS, before ending up in an Afghan jail.[6] She identifies to be one of the 32,000 girls, from the Hindu and Christian communities, who are missing from Kerala and have been recruited to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) after being converted to Islam. The claimed figures are widely inaccurate, being based on mistranslations, misquotes and extrapolations from misrepresentations of unrelated statistics.[2] The Observer Research Foundation in a 2019 report notes that about 60 to 70 individuals had joined ISIS from Kerala between 2014 and 2018.[9] According to Indian government figures not more than a total of 100 – 200 Indians had joined the organization over the years, one of the smallest figures of any country with a substantial Muslim population. The US Department of State in its 2020 report on terrorism had documented that there were a total of 66 individuals from India who were affiliated with ISIS at that time.[2] The events portrayed in the film seem to be inspired by four women from Kerala who converted to Islam and traveled with their husbands to Afghanistan to join ISIS between 2016 and 2018.[3] They were part of a 21-member group from Kerala to join ISIS in 2016, remain incarcerated in Afghanistan since surrendering in 2019.[10] OppositionBoth Indian National Congress and Communist Party of India (Marxist) — the only two parties to have governed the state since Independence — have objected to the release of the film for propagating communal misinformation. They have further alleged that the filmmakers are promoting the agenda of the Sangh Parivar of defaming Kerala and propagating the idea of "love jihad",[6][11][12] a Hindutva conspiracy theory.[16] Responding to the allegations, producer Shah has said that "nothing we say will be without evidence" and that Sen had conducted four years of research for the film.[17] After a Tamil Nadu-based journalist filed a complaint with the Kerala chief minister, by stating that false propaganda is being done against Kerala and communal harmony is being destroyed, Kerala state police chief Anil Kant directed the Thiruvananthapuram City Police to register a case based on a report by hi-tech crime inquiry cell of Kerala Police.[18][19] However, based on legal counsel's advice, as of 15 November 2022, an FIR was not filed.[20] As of 9 November 2022, the film is subject to an investigation.[3] Cast
Production and releaseThe film was produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who is also the creative director of the film.[1] It is scheduled to be released in theatres on 5 May 2023.[22] See also References
